Leslie embarked on his Yukon journey in 2014, initially captivated by the territory's allure during a vacation. In December 2017, he made a permanent move, joining the Yukon Government as a Paramedic. His involvement with unions traces back to 2005 in Manitoba, with earnest engagement as a Shop Steward, paving the way for significant roles in multiple unions over nearly two decades. Since 2018, Leslie served as Assistant Chief Steward, later assuming the roles of Vice-President and President of Local Y010. Additionally, he contributed to the YEU Board of Directors and played crucial roles in monetary and non-monetary bargaining teams for workers with Yukon Government. Leslie's dedication extended regionally and nationally actively participating on several committees and representing the Yukon at the Public Service Alliance of Canada convention.
Elected as the First Vice President of the Yukon Federation of Labour (YFL) in December 2022, he initiated a three-year term, collaborating with unions across the Yukon to organize and safeguard workers' rights. With two decades of union experience, Leslie passionately mentors and supports fellow workers, emphasizing fairness and justice. In his current role, he is committed to advancing workers' rights and fostering a fair and equitable labor landscape in the Yukon through collaboration with the dedicated team and partners.
