“Adulting at Work” – Know your Employment Rights as a Worker!
This free, interactive workshop empowers workers with essential knowledge about their rights in the workplace. Learn how the Canada Labour Code and Yukon Employment Standards Act protect you — including information on wages, leave, discrimination, workplace safety, and understanding your paycheque. We’ll also explore common workplace issues, how to recognize harassment and retaliation, and what to do if your rights are being violated. Get connected to local organizations that can support you — and leave feeling confident, informed, and ready to advocate for yourself or others.
Perfect for: New workers, young workers, newcomers to Yukon, and anyone unsure about their employment rights.
This 2-hour workshop will be packed with great information and tools for Yukon workers, particularly those who think they need safe and fair union representation. This workshop will be offered in person and virtually. Be sure to indicate how you plan to attend when you register.
