Shop Steward Training – 2 Day Course by IBEW & YFL
Shop Stewards are the backbone of a strong union and often the main point of contact between the union, its members, management, and the larger labour movement. This course builds the skills, confidence, and knowledge a steward needs to represent their members.
Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of their position as stewards, the handling of grievances and complaints, problem-solving skills, understanding and protecting contractual provisions in the collective agreement, and current issues for stewards in telecom, utility, construction, professional, and industrial workplaces.
This course has space for both in person and virtual attendance. Each day will require availability between 9 am – 4 pm (Yukon time) with snacks & lunch provided for those attending in person. Space is limited for both in-person and online attendance.
All participants must RSVP on this page to confirm their spot. You must be able to attend both days. IBEW members are encouraged to contact the IBEW 1574 office to confirm registration. The YFL office will follow up with all other affiliated union members to confirm their registration with their union.
Space is limited, so pre-registration is required to participate. Only affiliated union members are eligible to attend.
Zoom Link will be provided to those registered to attend virtually in Yukon.
