Register for the Summer Institute for Union Women

This year the UALE Western Summer Institute on Union Women comes to Burnaby, BC!  This regional women’s school June 22-26, 2025 offers core courses that last between 4 and 5 days, and include classes and workshops on a variety of labor-related topics. Women from all over North America and beyond learn the skills and knowledge needed to play leadership roles in their organizations. Visitors from labor unions and workers’ organizations in other countries frequently participate. One of the most valuable aspects of the schools is the chance to meet and network with other labor women from around your region and beyond.

At SIUW 2025, you can select from core labour topics like Organizing, Collective Bargaining, Women in Leadership, Labour activism, and more on current issues.  Additional workshops will feature allyship, self care, labour history, and how women run for leadership and take on climate justice.  Full details will be sent to registrants.

Participants will stay in dorms at Simon Fraser University, attending classes on campus as well as all meals during the school.   Registration begins after 3pm on Sunday June 22 with participants free to leave after lunch on Thursday, June 26.

Registration fee $1300 covers your classes, materials, meals and accommodation if you need it. Registration is now open through BCFed.
